We secure openness, enable digital innovation and fight evil

The digitalisation of society has made many things in our lives both easier and more comfortable, but it also comes with a downside. Via online accounts, cloud services, apps and social media, it is possible, without special technical knowledge, to track, monitor and control other people. The development has gone so far that the possibilities of technology today constitute a major threat to activities that work to protect women and children who are exposed to violence.

Initiative of the year 2020

A great motivation among us who work at Sentor is to through our knowledge and experience have the opportunity to contribute to a safer society. Since 2018, we have therefore been running the project Digital kvinnofrid together with Uppsala Women's Shelter. The aim of Digital Kvinnofrid is to raise the level of competence in IT and information security among women's shelters and other enterprises that encounter victims of violence, and to provide women's shelters with concrete tools for enhanced security work.
Digital Kvinnofrid is the first initiative in Sweden to combine the fields of IT and information security and men's violence against women, and was awarded the Forum's "Initiative of the Year" award in 2020.

"This type of knowledge should be mandatory for everyone who works with protecting people. It also needs to be repeated, especially as technology is constantly evolving. Since we have a lot of other things to take care of in our daily business, there is not much time left to stay up to date - that's why this project become extra important."

We want to help those who help others

Since Digital kvinnofrid started in 2018, we have been educating women's shelters and other professionals around the country. Our ambition is to continue to spread necessary and updated knowledge about IT security, with the goal of strengthening digital security for those who need it the most.
